Naturopath - Astrologer - Kinesiologist

Hello! With every potential new client I like to provide you with general information about my qualifications and experience, my practice philosophy, the modalities I use, and general information regarding my practice hours and cost. This will answer most of the questions you have, and will most importantly help you to decide whether I am the right practitioner for you! If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Qualifications and experience:

Since completing my Bachelor of Health Science - Naturopathy degree in the early 2000’s, I have been a practicing a naturopath working with individuals in a variety of different settings, including Pharmacy, a multi-discipline clinic, and for the past 10 years working for myself whilst bringing up my 2 children. The years of working in pharmacy were invaluable in providing me with the knowledge of incorporating both natural and orthodox medicines in a safe and effective manner, and enabled me to encourage the incorporation of natural therapies for all ages and health conditions. The experience of working within a multi-discipline clinic gave me exposure to other healing practices and the usefulness of combining other therapies, and collaborating with other practitioners to gain the best results for clients. Whilst practicing as a naturopath for the past 19 years, I have furthered my natural therapy studies in advanced iridology, mindfulness/meditation practices, astrology, kinesiology, and continued to hone my craft. I have a great curiosity and passion for learning, and endeavor to bring an educative and empowering approach, to working with clients.

My practice philosophy:

My approach is to understand my clients health and wellness challenges from their own unique perspective, and to provide guidance and support to help them move towards greater balance, health and consciousness. Using the different modalities I possess, the client and I can come to better understand of their strengths and challenges, and the underlying causes contributing to health issues or imbalance from a mind, body and soul perspective. I like to encourage the idea of a long lasting therapeutic relationship between myself and the client, much like the old days of having a family doctor that you saw for many years and who understands your history and you. Such a relationship can help with maintaining your intention, drive, input and focus, to achieve the best level of wellness and balance possible, wherever you are in life or what you’re going through; the ups and downs of human life experiences that we all inevitably go though. For example, a client may initially present with an issue that can be treated in the short-term, but further issues may be uncovered during the time we work together that could help to support a greater level of wellness. Perhaps, a new issue surfaces quite sometime later and the client wants to come back for support to address it, or the original condition returns and some help in re-motivating and encouraging a clients steps towards wellness, is required once more. Even, a general health check- in on a semi-regular basis can help to keep the client in balance, and maintain a focus on keeping well. After all, it is human nature to fall back into old habits! A long lasting therapeutic relationship can help a client maintain a higher level of wellness through all stages of life, and the ups and downs.

What is Iridology?

Every iris is as individual as a fingerprint. The eye is the only external tissue directly connected to the brain, and its development starts in the first few weeks of embryonic development. Interestingly, the muscles of the iris are the only ones in the body derived from neuroectoderm tissue, and it is possibly here that iridology had a reason to be born, providing a genetic blueprint of the inherited strengths and weaknesses that an individual has.

Iridology is the study of health via an examination of the colour and the structure of the iris, the sclera and the pupil. The colour and fibre structure variations visible in the iris are used to assess the constitutional strength of the physical body, and to understand aspects of personality to determine underlying inherent weaknesses which may be activated according to diet, lifestyle and psycho-social factors. It is a screening tool that can help to determine potential health problems at the earliest stage, and enables the opportunity to target the major cause of a current health issue, or to prevent illness and maintain optimum wellness.

What is Humanistic Astrology?

The purpose of modern humanistic astrology is not to forecast events. It is to assist people to;

  • Know themselves more deeply, and understand their individual nature

  • Make better choices in life

  • Realize their inherent potential

  • Deal with life with greater understanding of themselves, their past and their current journey

I use humanistic astrology as a tool to better understand you as an individual on all 3 levels of mind, body and soul. This allows me to adapt my consultation and treatment plan to suit you, and provides a lot of relevant information that otherwise would not be available to me when taking an ordinary case history. Such as your personality, familial background and conditioning, fears and insecurities, strengths and weaknesses. It is not particularly important whether you ‘believe’ in astrology or not, as I can use this information for myself without sharing it. However, with most of my clients I would like to be actively using the insights from your birth chart, transits and progressions to assist and guide you to a greater understanding of self, health, happiness and wholeness. I strongly recommend an astrological consultation, solely focused on your individual birth chart, be undertaken at some point during your healing journey.

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology encompasses holistic health disciplines which use the gentle art of muscle testing to communicate information about a person’s wellbeing and to assess stress and imbalance within the body. Kinesiology enables detected imbalances, perhaps related to stress, nutrition, poor lifestyle habits, learning problems, minor injuries, or other life issues, to be corrected and upgraded.

Originating in the 1960’s it combines Western healing techniques with Eastern wisdom to promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Kinesiology identifies factors which block the body’s natural healing processes. These dysfunctions are rectified by attention to reflex, acupressure, meridian energy points (Traditional Chinese medicine), specific body movements or corrections, and supportive therapies such as nutrition and herbal medicine.

Kinesiology can relieve pain, stress, muscular and nervous disorders; detect allergies and nutritional deficiencies, assist with psychological and learning problems, and improve general wellbeing and balanced living. It can assist in achieving a high level of wellness and vitality, provide education and support for individual health needs, and support clients to restore the flow of their own natural energy and maximise the body’s innate healing abilities. Effectively, helping to achieve greater potential and wellbeing.
